In order for the PDF viewer and linked PDFs to be viewable online or to downloaded in a secure method, the pages and items must be set to be secure. This will prevent the user's browser from encountering any errors on the pages as well as prevent a warning message from being displayed that file being downloaded  is not secure.

These steps can be followed to ensure the PDF Viewer and the PDF files are set to secure:

  1. From the Content Tree Select the PDF Viewer page you created.
  1. Click on the Properties tab above the content area and select Security.
  1. From the bottom of the window, change Requires SSL setting to Yes.
  1. Click on the Save button at the top.

These steps will need to repeated for any PDF pages that have already been added as children under the PDF Viewer page.

Note: All PDFs added after changing the Requires SSL setting on the PDF Viewer will automatically have the same setting set to Yes
