How to Link Mobile Content to an Existing Document

The alternative to Creating Mobile App Content exclusively, is to select the Link an existing page option. When linking an existing page, you are essentially creating a mobile optimized version of that page. Although very convenient, there are some important things to keep in mind when linking to an existing page, all of which are covered here. To Link to an existing Full Site page, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Mobile section within the Content Tree.
  2. Click on the New(+) button located above the Content Tree.
  3. Select the Link an existing page option, listed at the bottom of the page type selections.
  1. A new window will be displayed with the Content Tree on the left.
  2. From here you will select the page that will be linked to the Mobile App page.
  1. You will also be provided with the following options:
    • Link also all child pages -  Child pages are not supported on the Mobile App and must be linked as an individual page.
    • Copy Page Permissions - If you would like  the Mobile App page to adhere to the same security settings as the Full Site version of the page, this feature will allow you to do so.
  2. Once you are satisfied with your selections, click on the Save button.

Upon completion of these steps, the new page will be created as a child page to the Mobile section in the Content Tree. An icon will appear next to the page's status icon indicating it is linked to another page.

If you login to the Mobile App as a member, the linked page will now be visible within the pages to select and will also be optimized for the Mobile App.
