Why does the App request permission access for download?

The reason the app asks for permissions for “Identity” is so that we know what device the member is using to log in and which member (member info) is logging into the app. This allows the member to log in once and stay logged in without having to log in a second time. As well, each member that logs in will have access to their profile which includes their statements and bookings (tee times, calendar and booking modules as applicable to your club). The app does not take any personal information from the phone itself. Permission for photos is so that the member can also upload roster photos to their profile. The member will also need to allow permissions for receiving push notifications. The member has the option to decline and not allow permission for the camera after the app is installed. The app will still function however if the member performs an action such as trying to upload a photo then the app may crash. For Android 6.0 and up and IOS 8 there is the ability to turn off permissions for specific items such as location and camera after the app is installed. Unfortunately there is no alternative; if the member chooses not to download the app they still have the ability to access the modules via the website.
