How to Resubscribe a Contact

When a contact has the Unsubscribed email marketing status, this means they have opted to stop receiving emails that are sent from this email marketing module. They will not receive any emails until they are re-subscribed. Once they are in the Subscribed status and part of a list or segment, they will start receiving emails again.
 

 


How to Find Email Marketing Status

  1. Log in to website and access Email Marketing Module.
  2. Select Contacts > Manage Contacts from the left navigation.
  3. Use search box from any column to find contact.
  4. Look under the Status column, to see the email marketing status.
    • If Status column is hidden, click gear icon on right and select Status to be shown.


How Contacts are Unsubscribed

There are two ways a contact can be unsubscribed.

  1. Administrator changed status, from Subscribed to Unsubscribed upon contact request.
  2. Member changed status, using unsubscribe link found in the footer of a previously email sent using this email marketing module.

How Administrators Can Change Status to Unsubscribed

  1. Log in to website and access Email Marketing Module.
  2. Select Contacts > Manage Contacts from the left navigation.
  3. Select email address to access View/Edit Contact screen.
  4. Email Status: Select status to show drop-down list.
  5. Select Unsubscribed. ​Once the Email status is changed successfully, administrators will not be able to change it back to subscribed. The double opt-in process has to be completed to change the email status back to subscribed.
  6. Click Save And Close.
    • Contact will not receive any future emails from this email marketing module until they are re-subscribed.

How Members Changed Status to Unsubscribed

At the bottom of every email sent with this email marketing module, there is a link to unsubscribe.

 
You are subscribed to this email as [email protected].
Click here to modify your preferences or unsubscribe.
 
  1. Contact selects Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email previously sent through this email marketing module.
  2. They select Unsubscribe from all button, to confirm. This will stop them from receiving emails from the club using this email marketing module.
  3. Email status is now changed from Subscribed to Unsubscribed for that email address.


Double Opt-in Process to Re-Subscribe

When a contact realizes that they have unsubscribed in error and would like to start receiving emails from the club again, a double opt-in process has to be completed.

Step 1 Complete Form with Contact Information 

​This form can be completed by the administrator or contact that has the unsubscribed email address.
  1. Fill in the required fields on the form.
  2. Click Subscribed.
  3. On screen, the thank you message will appear with instructions to wait for confirmation email with link to confirm.
  4. Email status will immediately change from Unsubscribed to Pending for that email address. 

Step 2 - Contact Receives Confirmation Email

The confirmation email could appear in contact's inbox or junk box and it will have the confirmation link.

  • Confirmation Link:
    • If the contact does not click on the link, they will stay in the Pending email status and won't receive any emails from the club.
    • Click the link, to activate the subscription.
      • On screen thank you for subscribing message displays.
      • The email status will change from Pending to Subscribed.
      • If contact is part of a list or segment, they will start receiving emails again.


How to Access Re-Subscribe Form

There are two options for each club to access the form.

  1. Access Directly from Campaigner Email Marketing
  2. Access from ClubHouse Online Website Page


Access Directly from Campaigner Email Marketing

It is recommended for clubs to access the direct link for this form and have it bookmarked in their browser. This is for easy access to assist contacts in the future to re-subscribe their emails for the email marketing module. 

Administrators could easily complete the first part of the double opt-in process by filling out the form and have the contact complete the second part by clicking on the link in the confirmation email.

  1. Log in to website and access Email Marketing Module.
  2. Select Forms > Sign Up Forms from the left navigation.
  3. Select checkbox beside Resubscribe Form. 
  4. Click Posting Instructions button at the top. 
  5. Select the first option Open form in a browser window using direct link.
  6. On the right Copy and Paste the code on your site: select the text in this box, copy and paste it into a new browser. This will display the re-subscribe form with the fields.
  7. Recommendation: Bookmark this link for easy access to the form in the future.
    • Administrators can complete the first step of the double opt-in process by filling out the fields.
    • Option to send contact this link using a different email program so they can complete both steps in the double opt-in process on their own.


Access from ClubHouse Online Website Page

The same form has been set up as a hidden page on the club's website. 

  • Administrators/Contacts can access the hidden re-subscribe form even if they do not have a login for the website.
  • Contacts can complete both steps in the double opt-in process on their own.
  1.  Go to the club’s website. 
  2. Add /Resubscribe to the end of the club's website address.
    • Both administrators and members could access this from the website.
    • For clubs that have had Campaigner email marketing for awhile, add /EmailSubscription to the end instead.
    • If a page not found message appears after trying both of these options, please contact web support.
  3. Complete form to re-subscribe contact.

Note: If the member provides a NEW email address, please add that email to the Member File in the club's Accounting System. When the export process is completed from the accounting system, the new information will be updated into the Email Marketing Module.  

Subscribing a Guest and/or Prospective Member:

This page can also be used to obtain emails for guests and/or prospective members. In this scenario we recommend adding Lists to the form to allow the prospective members to choose the types of emails that they would like to receive from the club such as Newsletter, Upcoming Events, Golf, Dining, etc. For more information and/or assistance on this subject please contact web support.
